The centre's location in Eskilstuna is an old industrial and historical neighbourhood, which has been transformed over the past few years into an expansive cultural and creative part of the town. The development is still ongoing, but the area is already home to various institutions and enterprises, including the town's new art museum, a community college offering an art course, a concert and events hall, a sports arena and Munktell Science Park – a business park with companies that operate in various creative and innovative sectors.
